Techniques: Writer Bottles
Watch this tutorial or read our instructions below to learn how to use our writer bottles on your pieces!
Writer bottles are the perfect tool for adding words, fine lines, and small details to your ceramic pieces.
Before you begin, remove the pin from the top of the bottle and set it aside. This pin helps keep the tip clear when the bottle is not in use.
We recommend practicing on a napkin or scrap paper before starting on your piece. This will help you get a feel for how much pressure to use and how the paint will flow from the bottle.
When you’re ready to start, gently squeeze the bottle to begin writing. Squeezing too hard may cause the paint to splatter.
As you work, try not to drag the tip of the bottle across your pottery too much. Excess paint from your piece can build up in the tip and cause it to clog..
Once you’re finished, don’t forget to put the pin back into the tip of the bottle.
With a little practice, writer bottles are an easy way to add beautiful details and personalized touches to any piece!
