Techniques: Tape
Watch this tutorial or read our instructions below to learn how to use tape on your pieces!
Tape is one of the easiest ways to create crisp, clean lines on your pottery! Whether you're designing stripes, geometric patterns, or other intricate details, tape makes it simple to achieve professional-looking results.
We offer several different widths of tape, so you can choose the size that best fits your design.
To get started, apply your tape to an unpainted area of your piece, making sure the edges are pressed down securely. Then, paint three even coats over the tape, allowing each coat to dry slightly before applying the next. Once you've finished painting, carefully peel the tape away.
From there, you can leave the exposed areas white or fill them in with another color to complete your design.
A quick tip: Tape won't stick well to painted surfaces, so we recommend applying it before you've painted that section of your piece.
